The Nokia C7 has a classy chrome and silver/gray finish, and it's one of Nokia's slimmest handsets yet. It sports a 3.5-inch AMOLED display that makes viewing clear even in bright sunlight. The ARM 11 680 MHz processor, coupled with a 3D Graphics HW accelerator, is powerful enough, but the New Symbian ^3 is still not as versatile as Android or iOS. A few alterations to the UI, like tapping the top corner to access connectivity options, are handy, but they're just small tweaks. The accelerometer is quite smooth and Haptics can be adjusted or shut off. MultiTouch was also very fluid. On the whole, the UI is extremely responsive.

The C7 has a Task Manager app for accessing apps running in the background, and multi-tasking was quite seamless. However, after installing a firmware update, the handset kept hanging frequently during calls and while using apps. It would then just abruptly shut down.

The music player has five EQ presets, but no EQ customization. Music quality is up there with the best though, and the FM radio worked without a hitch. During calls, active noise cancellation uses two separate microphones to cancle out ambient sounds. The addition of DivX and XviD codec support is a relief, and 720p look great on the large display.

The C7 packs in Wi-Fi, 3G, EDGE, Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP, USB and Nokia's latest USB-on-the-go. Thanks to Nokia's email service, setting up accounts is quite simple. We were unable to use the social network application, so standalone apps are the way to go.

The 8 megapixel camera features a slew of imaging features and 720p video recording with video stabilization. It's a good camera, but the lack of autofocus is an issue. The battery runs for over two days on a single charge, with talk time averaging at 5-6 hours. The C7 is a well designed handset with loads of functionality, but a few hiccups really turned us off.
