Canon Selphy CP780 – Photo Printer Review

The increasing popularity of amateur photography has made portable photo printers a viable product line. Good looks, low running cost and a compact footprint has made these printers increasingly popular for home use. Canon and Epson have released a series of compact photo printers and Selphy CP780 is the latest from Canon.

CP780 weighs less than a kilogram and is compact and good looking. The hard plastic shell is sturdy intended for daily use. On the front there is a minuscule LCD display. The power, menu, navigation, selection and print buttons are placed below. The multi card reader slot is also housed on the front. The pictbridge and power connectors are at the back.

The printer accepts two papers size – postcard and 4 x 6in. The paper holder can hold 54 sheets of paper. The printer prints four individual layers one by one, this method ensures all details of C, M, Y and K are reproduced accurately. Though it takes almost 56 seconds to print a picture. But the time factor can be ignored looking at the print quality this delvers.

All in all Canon Selphy CP780 is a good photo printer for home use and is modestly priced.
